Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 26 August 2026
These terms apply to your use of the website thematineeclub.com and to membership of The Matinee Club ("we", "us", "our"). By using the website or purchasing a membership, you agree to these terms.
1. About the service
The Matinee Club supplies interactive group games designed for older people and people living with dementia, delivered digitally for use on a care home's own television and computer. Membership includes weekly games (delivered monthly), unlock codes and our newsletter.
2. Membership and licence
- Each membership covers one care home site. Games may be used for group activities within that home only.
- Games may not be copied, shared, resold, published online or provided to other homes or organisations without our written permission. Care groups requiring multiple homes should contact us for group pricing.
- Free games we provide remain yours to use within your home, whether or not you become a member.
3. Payment and cancellation
- Monthly membership is billed monthly and can be cancelled at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid month. You keep any game packs already delivered.
- Annual membership is billed once for a 12-month term and includes the full year's games. Annual memberships are non-refundable after 30 days, except where required by law.
- If a payment fails and is not resolved within 14 days, we may suspend delivery of new games and codes.
4. Intellectual property
All games, artwork, text, branding and other materials are owned by The Matinee Club and protected by copyright. We grant members a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them as described in section 2.
5. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the website or the games, attempt to interfere with their operation, or use them in any unlawful way.
6. Service standards and liability
- We aim to deliver new game packs on schedule every month and will make good any missed deliveries as soon as reasonably possible.
- The games are activity resources. They are not medical or therapeutic products, and homes remain responsible for the appropriate supervision of their own activities.
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. Otherwise, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the membership fees you paid in that period, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
7. Termination
We may end or suspend a membership for serious or repeated breach of these terms. You may end your membership as described in section 3.
8. General
We may update these terms from time to time; the latest version will always be on this page and material changes will be notified to members by email. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
